Recently, Parsoon Joshi replaced Pahlaj Nihalani as the chief go the CBFC and almost everyone from the film industry was very happy about it. Nihalani has always been in talks because of the way he dealt with the board, and creating many controversies. While the main reason for his removal is still unknown, many believe that it is the act of Smriti Irani, the new Information and Broadcasting Minister.
After the controversy with Ekta Kapoor’s Lipstick Under My Burkha, the producer turned to old friend, Smriti Irani for help. In fact it was Kapoor’s complaint that might have lead to the final decision. A source revealed, “For a very long time, Ekta had been grumbling against Nihalani’s high-handedness. As luck would have it, Ekta’s old buddy Smriti Irani was appointed the Minister of Information & Broadcasting around the same time when Lipstick Under My Burkha was taken by her for marketing and distribution. When the film was severely attacked by the CBFC, Ekta expressed her displeasure to the new I&B Minister.”
Whether these two ladies are involved or not, we bet everyone is happy, and that’s what counts!
