Emraan Hashmi is one of the few actors in Bollywood who has both, the looks and the acting chops. Even after films like Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Ghanchakkar, Jannat, Shangai the actor is still known as a serial kisser. However Hashmi does want to put an end to that tag now and that is why he has been doing such films.
While talking to the media recently while promoting his next, Baadshaho, he also spoke about being a proud part of Vidya Balan’s The Dirty Picture. When asked if the Raaz and Murder franchise objectified women, he said, “Women were objectified? I was also objectified in those films. It’s just the zone you are grappling with. After films like Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, I could have chosen big-budget, hero-driven films, but I opted for The Dirty Picture, which was woman-centric. As an actor, I don’t see women as objects; they have always been central to the plot in all my films. Heroines are shining in the films being driven by them today. I am not among those male actors who feel insecure about women-centric films.”
We couldn’t agree more Emraan!
