#WomanCrushWednesday: Geet|Jab We Met

Jab We Met may certainly not be Imtiaz Ali’s best, but it sure is very close to being the best and it definitely is the most popular film of all the films he has made. And let’s just take a moment here to give majority of the credit to the character he created, Geet. And even more credit to Kareena Kapoor Khan for playing Geet and making that character immortal in our memories.

Bebo had done a similar thing earlier in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham when she played Poo and everyone still wants to be like her. After Jab We Met, through Geet, Bebo gave young girls a reason to be happy and what she imparted the most was a sense of Indian fashion. The patialas were back in no time after the release of the film.

Geet isn’t a perfect woman. She has her flaws, but unlike most women, she accepts them. She never shies away from going an extra mile if it makes her happy, because whatever you do, after all, effects your personal happiness. And she was a girl of confidence, otherwise how could you say “Main apni favourite hoon” and own it like a boss.

A little immature, but not too much, chirpy – maybe too much – and full of heart, that’s Geet!
