Ranveer Singh is one busy man! He has projects lined up, one after another. In a recent turn of events, Singh will now play Kapil Dev in Kabir Khans film on India’s legendary World Cup win in the year 1983 at Lords Stadium.
Talking about the film, Khan said, “I had no idea then that from that day on cricket in India would change forever. As a filmmaker, the journey to that win, filled with the raw energy and sheer passion of a young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on. It’s great to have Ranveer come on board as Kapil Dev, as honestly I could see no one else in the role since I started working on the script.”
A source had earlier said to a tabloid, “A mammoth event is being planned to announce the film on September 27. The makers hope that the Indian players who brought the cup home will grace the occasion.”
The film will go on floors next year and will be shot in real locations all across the world.
