Vasundhara Raje writes to Smriti Irani for changes to Padmavati

The Padmavati controversy has been doing the rounds of news portals for a while now. While people are offering money to chop off Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s heads, Viacom 18 has pushed the release of the film to an unknown date.

In a new turn of events, Vasundhara Raje (Chief Minister of Rajasthan) has written to Smriti Irani (Union Information and Broadcasting Minister) urging her to ensure that Padmavati is not released without necessary changes.

In the letter to Ms. Irani, she suggested that a committee of historians, film experts and members from the Rajput community be formed to look into the film’s subject and necessary changes be made to it so that it does not hurt the sentiments of any community.

This letter is the first interaction between Raje and Irani.

While everyone awaits the announcement of the new release date of the film, Deepika Padukone continues promoting it.
