Rumours have been doing the rounds with the names of many leading ladies to work with Shahid Kapoor in Batti Gul Meter Chalu. However, recent reports suggest that Befikre fame, Vaani Kapoor has been finalised for the project.
Shahid did not confirm the news when asked about the same, and said, “I have read so many articles about the heroine in the film that I feel the whole industry is a part of it. So, I am very happy and grateful that everyone is contributing to our film.”
“The female lead of the film is expected to be announced in a week or two,” he added.
The film is being directed by Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director, Shree Narayan Singh.
