In 1964, Raj Khosla had made Woh Kaun Thi with Sadhna. The fil is remembered till date for the songs composed by Madan Mohan. Now, KriArj Entertainment has bought the rights to make a remake of the same and have two names in mind to reprise Sadhna’s roles (it is a double role, one of them as a ghost).
Prernaa Arora of KriArj says, “The minute we acquired the remake rights we thought of the songs. These two songs form the backbone of Woh Kaun Thi. The film cannot be imagined without those songs.”
And it seems like master singer Lata Mangeshkar who lent her soulful voice to these songs was the one who put in the idea in the heads of the makers to cast either Deepika Padukone or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the leading lady. “Look at destiny. Madan bhaiyya got no awards. But the songs are remembered to this day. Who would I like to see singing my songs in the remake? Aishwarya Bachchan or Deepika Padukone,” Lata Ji had said in a statement.
