Sonam Kapoor: I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding rumours have been doing the rounds for a while now. But seems like the couple has finally fixed on a date, which is the 8th of May. While other functions like the mehendi and sangeet will take place on the 7th, the wedding is supposed to happen on the following day in Mumabi. The families had earlier decided on a destination wedding in Geneva, after which the location shifted to Udaipur, and now, finally, the wedding shall take place in Mumbai. “It was becoming too cumbersome to manage the travel and living arrangements for approximately 150 members of the extended family and close friends of the Kapoors as well as Anand’s. It would have been difficult for the senior members of the extended family, who are expected to attend all the ceremonies, to fly to Switzerland,” said a source.

Sonam was asked by a publication about what she looks forward to in her wedding. She said, “I think the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to me than a wedding.I think there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and I would rather give that money away. I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. I think it’s important to do all the rituals, but I don’t believe in spending all that money, I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I’m not okay with that at all.”

After the wedding ceremony in Mumbai, there will be a grand reception in Delhi, where Anand’s parents are based. We cannot wait for a final confirmation on this!
