Kedarnath is supposed to be Sara Ali Khan’s dream debut but there was too much trouble in her paradise when differences aroused between director Abhishek Kapoor and producer Prernaa Arora. Since the movie was put on hold for a while, doting daddy, Saif Ali Khan arranged for Karan Johar to launch Sara Ali Khan and then they announced Simmba (directed by Rohit Shetty, co-starring Ranveer Singh) to release at the end of this year.
Now that Ronnie Screwvala has come on board Kedarnath, Abhishek Kapoor wanted his film to be Khan’s debut and filed a ₹5 crore law suit against Khan for giving the same dates to Shetty as she did to him. Today was supposed to be the day of hearing for this matter but Rohit Shetty, Abhishek Kapoor and Ronnie Screwvala solved the matter outside the court only.
“Rohit and Gattu had a talk. Ronnie, too, was present at the meeting. The three filmmakers met on Sunday to discuss the matter. Karan (Johar) couldn’t be there as he’s holidaying in the US. They have come to a mutual agreement.” The source adds, “Sara will shoot simultaneously for Kedarnath and Simmba. While she films Simmba, the Kedarnath team will complete the portions that don’t include her and vice versa. The directors have worked it out,” said a source.
Well, we’re thankful that things have worked out for lil Miss Khan!
