Deepika Padukone made headlines when she was paid more than Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor for Padmaavat. Padukone was paid a whooping amount of ₹12 crores for that film, which is the highest of what leading ladies are usually paid.
Like Padukone, even Priyanka Chopra has always been an advocate of equal pay for equal work. Even when the global star was signing Quantico, she had made sure that she gets her due and is also the poster girl. So when it came to Salman Khan’s Bharat, our desi girl demanded a fee of ₹14 crores. After a lot of negotiations, the producers and Chopra’s team decided on ₹12 crores for her fee.
With this, Chopra upgrades from being one of the most paid Bollywood actress to being the most paid actress, along with Deepika Padukone.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat will go on floors in July.
