The makers of the remake of the superhit Telugu film, Arjun Reddy had been searching for a leading lady for a while now. While Shahid Kapoor plays the male lead, the makers were juggling between the thoughts of casting Sara Ali Khan or Janhvi Kapoor opposite the Haider actor. Reports now suggest that Tara Sutaria has been finalised to play the female lead in the film. While Shahid Kapoor will step into Vijay Deverakonda’s shoes, Tara Sutaria will essay the role played by Shalini Pandey. Director, Sandeep Vanga who directed the Telegu version will be directing the Hindi version as well, and Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani will be producing the film.
This untitled film will be Sutaria’s second project, after Punit Malhotra’s Student of the Year 2, opposite Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday, which is slated to release on November 23.
