Deepika Padukone’s last outing was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat, which released earlier this year. Padukone was supposed to start shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Sapna Didi right after the release, but due to Irrfan Khan’s health issues, the film has been put on hold.
When asked about her feelings about this brave decision, the Piku actress told a leading fashion magazine, “Yeah, because I feel like. There always seems to be this pressure on women, especially in film, to do everything now, make hay while the sun shines. And I think, somewhere, I got fed up with people telling me that. I don’t look at my career like that. The perception that it is short-lived, so you have to make the most of it. If you’re looking at a career in the long run, it’s important to replenish emotionally, and that’s why this break is important,” she said.
