Taapsee Pannu has never shied away from addressing issues, especially those which affect women. The actress shared her views about the #MeToo movement at the badminton league held in Delhi and said, “I think it should have started way back. But it’s never too late, I am happy that it has taken a toll. It requires courage to come out in the open, talk about it and take names. I am happy it’s finally happening.”
“Every country including ours should wake up and realise that women play an integral role in the society and they need to be respected equally. I think that is what needs to be done”, added the Manmarziyaan actor.
The #MeToo movement started gaining momentum in India after actress Tanushree Dutta raised powerful accusations against Nana Patekar.
