Women from the media and entertainment industry are opening up heart-wrenching stories about sexual assaults against them after Tanushree Dutta gathered the courage to bear the torch. Former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared her views on the same and is glad that the #MeToo movement is gaining momentum in the country.
At the launch of Loreal Paris x Sabyasachi, Bachchan expressed, “I have always spoken out, I spoke in the past, I am speaking now, and I will continue to speak. When it comes to helping women find their voice, find the strength, feel confident about sharing their stories, it’s not about the current time.”
The 44-year old actor added further saying, “Social media has enabled the conversation and any woman who comes from any part of the world today has a voice that will be heard. It has been the need of the hour since time immemorial and I hope together we keep the momentum going.”
On the work front, Bachchan will soon begin work for Anurag Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun, in which she stars opposite her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.
