Anushka Sharma has always been a risk taker, when it comes to producing film. Her previous productions, NH10, Phillauri and Pari have all been huge risks because neither of them fell into either the mainstream bracket or the indie cinema one and also, each one of them dealt with topics that aren’t so easily spoken about in films.
Producing films is not all for Sharma. Along with brother and business partner, Karnesh Sharma, the Sui Dhaaga actress will now be producing a web series under her banner, Clean Slate Films. A source told a leading daily, “Anushka is expanding the scope of her company from just being a film production studio and foraying into other areas as well. The web series, which is a gripping cop drama, is in collaboration with an international streaming giant. The brother-sister duo has teamed up with Sudeep Sharma (the acclaimed writer of films like NH10 and Udta Punjab) to pilot this project.”
Though, unlike her previous productions, Sharma won’t act in the web series but the the brother-sister duo are all in for it, ready to give a chance to other talented people. “Anushka and her brother have shown that they will break new ground with the content that comes out of their production house. She is driven by strong ideas that make for engaging, disruptive yet hugely entertaining cinema and wants it to resonate these values,” the source adds.
