Sara Ali Khan is on a roll and how. After much debate on her debut film(s), the star kid is finally being launched in Kedarnath on December 7, while Rohit Shetty’s Simmba releases on December 28. Buzz earlier was that Ali Khan will be Varun Dhawan’s leading lady in Rannbhoomi but that rumour shut down soon.
Our sources now inform us that a while ago, Imtiaz Ali had offered Sara Ali Khan his next, opposite Kartik Aaryan and now she’s finally given her nod to the same.
The source informed a leading daily, “It’s another unique love story, which will invariably have a slight travelogue flavour, like all Imtiaz films. He wanted a new actress opposite Kartik. He had seen a few rushes of Kedarnath and felt Sara has a great screen presence and is good at delivering dialogues. He approached her with the script and the newbie liked the idea.”
The source adds, “They sat for narrations. Now, the star daughter, who has a strong role in the romantic drama, has finally given her nod. The modalities are being worked out. She will start the film next year after both her movies — Kedarnathand Simmba — release next month,” the source informs.
Ali has also worked with Sara’s father, Saif Ali Khan in the past (Love Aaj Kal). “When Saif got to know that the filmmaker has offered Sara a movie, he was happy. He doesn’t make professional decisions for his daughter, but he feels the writer-director will tap into her potential. Sara’s mom, Amrita Singh, loved the story when she heard it,” adds the source.
