ZNMD, Dil Dhadakne Do & Gully Boy – Ranbir Kapoor rejected all Zoya Akhtar films

Little is known about the fact that ace director Zoya Akhtar sees a lot of potential for her characters in Ranbir Kapoor. And why should she not. The Sanju actor sure is incredibly talented. But looks like Kapoor hasn’t been waiting for an opportunity to work with her. As it turns out, after finalising Ranveer Singh as the leading actor for her next, Gully Boy, Akhtar offered a significant part in the film to Ranbir Kapoor but he politely turned it down because he didn’t want to play second fiddle to Singh.

However, this is not the first time Kapoor has turned down an offer by Zoya Akhtar. Akhtar wrote Dil Dhadakne Do with Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in mind, but since both of them had rejected the offer, the film finally went to Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Before this, the ace director has offered a significant part to Kapoor in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and since we didn’t see Kapoor in the film, we’re guessing he refused to play that too.
