That actors, both male and female, are replaceable is the norm of the industry. Whether it’s in a film or brand endorsement, our B-town actors always have the fear of being replaced on the back of their heads. So when Parineeti Chopra’s career took a low after Golmaal Again performing huge numbers at the box office and Namaste England bombing like it was nobody’s business, a chips brand, that she’s been an endorser of, has decided to not renew her contract and give it to someone else.
The new face of this brand will be Taapsee Pannu. Our sources tell us that owing to Pannu’s recent success, after Pink, the actress has been in high demand in the brand endorsement market. Last year, with back to back hits, Pannu sure has become a name one doesn’t easily forget. “A popular chips brand was looking for a new face and they zeroed in on Taapsee. They have already shot for their first ad together last month. The team wanted a complete makeover and someone whose energy matched with theirs. While Parineeti was the face of the brand for years, they didn’t renew her contract this time around,” said a source.
Well, we hope Kesari (with Akshay Kumar) and Jabariya Jodi (with Sidharth Malhotra) bring Jr. Chopra’s brand value to where it was, if not higher. On the other hand, Taapsee Pannu has Badla (with Amitabh Bachchan) releasing on March 8.
