Anurag Basu and Kangana Ranaut were supposed to begin shooting for Imli in November last year, but due to repeated delays in Manikarnika, the actress couldn’t start a new film, and Basu went on to begin what is being touted as the sequel to Life In A Metro. While a “clash of dates” is being touted as the reason for Ranaut’s exit from Basu’s Imli, our sources tell us that hasn’t been the case. Both Basu and Ranaut have had creative differences owing to the script, which has made the Queen actress walk out of the project, for with Basu has now approached Deepika Padukone.
A source informs, “Kangana Ranaut had walked out of filmmaker Anurag Basu’s forthcoming movie Imli citing difference in opinion. As the two of them couldn’t reunite after Gangster and Life In A Metro, the filmmaker has now approached Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in the film. As Deepika is busy with Chhapaak, the conversations between the filmmaker and the actress have been more than positive.”
What’s true and what’s not, only time will tell, but for now, and good, Kangana Ranaut will not be seen in Imli.
