Did you know, Deepika Padukone wasn’t the first choice for Piku?

Actors turning down films and them landing in someone else’s kitties is a normal trend in the movie business and why should it not. Kareena Kapoor Khan rejected Queen for it to land in Kangana Ranaut’s kitty, Parineeti Chopra replaces Shraddha Kapoor in the Saina Nehwal biopic and how can we forget the (in)famous Bharat, Which was first in Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s hands but eventually went to Katrina Kaif.

In a turn of events, on Vogue BFFS with Neha Dhupia, Parineeti Chopra revealed something rather shocking – at least for us. The actor, who will appear on the show with her best friend, Sania Mirza, said that she was offered Shoojit Sircar’s Piku before Deepika Padukone finally went ahead and did it. “I didn’t really turn down the film… there was confusion. I was going to do another film at the same time and then that film also didn’t happen, so it was my loss,” Chopra said.

We don’t know about you, but we’re very glad the character was finally played by Padukone because no one, absolutely no one could’ve done it better.
