Zaira Wasim made an impression over each one of us when she made her film debut with Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal, also starring Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar and Suhani Bhatnagar in important roles. As a young Geeta Phogat, Wasim earned both praise and awards. After this, released Advait Chandan’s Secret Superstar, and Wasim proved, yet again, that she was an acting force to reckon with.
Over the years, Wasim has openly spoken about depression and how some forces just aren’t in our hands, and also about unhappiness and one’s duty towards Allah. Owing to all of this and more, the young actress took to Instagram to share a statement in which she addressed and announced her withdrawal from films.
In her statement, Wasim beautifully explains how it is important to put self care before anything and everything and that nothing is worth harming your own self – no amount of fame, money can replace inner happiness.
Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, which also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar, will be Zaira Wasim’s last film.
