A few weeks ago, there were reports of Ishaan Khatter deciding between Vishal Bharadwaj and Mira Nair’s next, and seems like the young actor has now chosen Mira Nair next, which is an official adaptation of Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy, which stars Tabu in the leading role and Tanya Maniktala as Lata (who was seen in the web series, Flames).
A source close to the production told a leading daily, “A Suitable Boy is about four families and has several sub plots, but the central plot line is about the character of Tabu trying to find a suitable groom for her daughter Lata. She is over controlling and extremely dominating in nature, and becomes a major cause of conflict in Lata’s life. The role required someone with brilliant acting prowess and Mira couldn’t think of anyone better than Tabu.”
The story revolves around these three characters and Ishaan’s infatuation with Tabu. “I hope I can satisfy Mira’s vision and give the global audience the character they deserve in Maan Kapoor,” Ishaan said.
