No matter how skeptical we were of a Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt pairing, however unromantic it may have been in nature, we must admit that we were excited to see them together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah. But a day before the film went on floors, Salman Khan took to Twitter to announce that the film has been shelved.
Yesterday, the Raazi actress was asked about the same at the IIFA Awards, and she said, “I was very excited to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, of course very excited to work with Salman as well. I believe that sometimes things just happen and it’s not in your control. That way there’s a saying that if you want to make the God laugh then tell him about your plans because plans never really go ‘as per plan.’ But I can give it you in writing that I am going to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali very soon.”
Reports now are that Bhansali wants to stick true to his words and indeed work with Alia Bhatt as he had promised to her. Sources tell us that one of projects, Gangubai, revolving around a brothel owner of Kamathipura, has been offered to Alia Bhatt and that Bhatt will be a part of it. This film was initially offered to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, but that hasn’t worked out in her favour. On the Inshallah front, why the film was shelved is a big mystery, but a little birdie tells us that Salman Khan had some problems with a few of the scenes, including a kissing scene.
What’s true and what’s not, only time will tell. Until then, follow us on Instagram here:
