If you don’t know it already, Rasika Dugal is a personal favourite. Over the years, the actress has proved with her acting chops that she is a force to reckon with. Whether it was with Safia in Nandita Das’ Manto or by playing an IPS Officer in Netflix’s Delhi Crime, Dugal has always aced it.
And now, she’s in Mira Nair’s next, which is an adaptation of Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy. The Manto actor will be seen playing the role of Savita, one of the most important characters in the story. She will be joining the cast in Lucknow on 6th October for a month-long schedule. Talking about the film, Dugal says, “Working with Mira Nair has been on my bucket list. I have always been taken in by the attention to every person in her frame .There are very few films which are made with a lot of sensitivity and a lot of fun – and all her films are that for me. When I finally had an opportunity to meet her in New York a few years back It was clear that the fun in her films came from her spunk and infectious enthusiasm. I am so looking forward to working with her on A Suitable Boy and with such an interesting ensemble!”
A Suitable Boy is a six-part series film and stars Ishaan Khatter, Tabu and Tanya Maniktala in lead roles. Apart from this Dugal will be seen in Lootcase which releases on 11th October 2019, Amazon’s Mirzapur Season 2, Netflix’s Delhi Crime Season 2 and another series Dr. Kapoor.
