It’s no news that when it comes to fashion, our B-town girls never fail to surprise us. While there weren’t many appearances this week, as is always the case, a few of our leading ladies made stunning sartorial choices, each of which was a head turner in it’s own sense. What we liked the most was the fact that even tho it just two weeks after Diwali, it was a great blend of traditional and western outfits, with Bhumi Pednekar (in Manish Malhotra) and Tara Sutaria (in Punit Balana) leading our list. Here’s who wore what in the week gone by…
Tara Sutaria in Punit Balana and Picchika by Urvashi Sethi
Tara Sutaria’s Punit Balana outfit is a personal favorite look from last week, while her pick from Urvashi Sethi’s Picchika is a close second. Sutaria is out and about promoting Marjaawan and we love how the actress is letting her outfits do most of the talking, while keeping the accessories minimal. Sutaria compliments her black Punit Balana sharara set with heavy earrings from Hazoorilal Legacy Jewellers and a subtle black bindi. For her floral Picchika lehenga, the Student Of The Year 2 actress finished her look with earrings from Minerali.Styled by Ami Patel, Garima Garg and Anushka Damani
Bhumi Pednekar in Manish Malhotra and APPAPOP
Believe it, don’t believe it, Bhumi Pednekar is the new fashion force to reckon with. Pednekar, who is currently basking in the glory of the success of her recent releases, Saand Ki Aankh and Bala, has been making all the right fashion choices with her stylist, Pranita Shetty. While promoting the recently released Bala and the upcoming Pati Patni Aur Woh, the talented actress has been serving us all the right looks, each better than the previous. But two of her recent looks have stuck with us. One, the iconic sequins saree by Manish Malhotra and the other, a sharp pink suit (also the colour of the Bombay Balloon logo hehe) by APPAPOP. The actress let the saree do all the talking with no accessories and matching footwear. For the pantsuit, Pednekar played a little and ended up doing a lot by contrasting the pink with an orange t-shirt from Adidas Originals.Styled by Pranita Shetty
Janhvi Kapoor in Alina Anwar Couture
Like you, we too went purple with envy (or is when we saw Janhvi Kapoor step out in this stunning strapless gown from Alina Anwar Couture. What we love the most about this look is the uneven hem of the gown and the heavy yet minimal jewellery from ANAQA By Nishant Tulsiani and SWAROVSKI. The Dhadak actress finishes her look with light makeup and a gorgeous shade of pink lipstick.Styled by Mohit Rai and Miloni Shah
Ananya Panday in alice McCALL
This week, Ananya Panday dressed up as a modern day princess who wouldn’t give up in a lace dress by Alice McCALL and we only have praise for this look. Like other actresses on our list, Panday too chose to wind up her look with minimal makeup, minimal accessories and silver heels. Our favourite part about the entire look are the puffed sleeves, and Panday’s stunning mane.Styled by Ami Patel, Sanjay Kumar Dauhaliya and Mala Agnani Rao
Shruti Hassan in Amrapali Jewels
It’s been a while since we have seen Shruti Hassan around. But when we did, we dropped our jaws, almost entirely. This week, Hassan opted for a classic, plain black saree and paired the same with chunky jewellery from Amrapali, giving the final touch with a maroon-brown shade of lipstick.Styled by Amritha Ram
Rasika Dugal in DOLLY J
Off late, Rasika Dugal has been on almost every best dressed list, and why should she not! Last night, for the GQ Power List event, the actress opted for a DOLLY J number with fringes and polka dots and a large, chunky belt, along with puffed sleeves. And while all of this may be a situation of ‘too much on the plate’, Dugal makes it work so effortlessly. We love the black pumps, the absence of accessories (except rings from JOOLRY) and the touch of blue nail paint.Styled by Who Wore What When
