Week after week, our Bollywood divas prove to us that fashion is something they wear on their sleeves. It’s always all very easy for them. A couple of weeks after Diwali, not a single B-town lady made it to our list in traditional wear, except Neha Dhupia (in Punit Balana), but that’s because she went to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. This week, leading our list are Karisma Kapoor (in Kitty Joseph), Mrunal Thakur (in Zwaan) and Kalki Koechlin (in Zara). Here’s who wore what in the week gone by…
Karisma Kapoor in Kitty Joseph
We have had both the Kapoor sisters on a single best dressed list in the past as well, but this is probably the first time we have both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor and the latter is winning over the former. The actress’s rainbow gown from Kitty Joseph is a stand alone stunner and that is perhaps why Kapoor ditched accessories in their entirety and let the makeup be minimal, and hairdo sleek. This has to be our absolute favourite look on this list.

Mrunal Thakur in Zwaan
If you’ve been following our best dressed lists over the weeks, you’d know that ever since Mrunal Thakur made her debut with Love Sonia, the actress has been a constant on our list. Blame it on her own understanding of fashion or the faith that she has in her stylists, whatever it is, it works great for her. We’d like to believe it is a proper mixture of both these forces. How else could she so effortlessly pull off this jumpsuit from Zwaan. Thakur goes for a metallic vibe by finishing her look with jewellery from Corner Stone, Minerali and Sakshi Jhunjhunwala. We love the eyes, we love the hair – no complaints!

Kalki Koechlin in Zara
Kalki Koechlin stepped out in a night suit. Kalki Koechlin stepped out in a night suit and yet managed to look drop dead gorgeous and trust us, girls, she could give your Dior dresses a lot of competition. There’s absolutely nothing about this look that we would want to change. A very casual piece of clothing worn so gracefully, and styled so stunningly, with chunky jewellery from Olio and a sleek yet messy bun! We adore!

Bhumi Pednekar in Alina Anwar Couture
Looks like Alina Anwar Couture has become a personal favourite of stylist Mohit Rai. Two weeks back, we had Janhvi Kapoor on the same list, wearing the same designer and now it’s Bhumi Pednekar. Well, we don’t blame Rai, nor do we doubt his sensibilities. The label has been designing clothes that are a class apart, and they deserve to be on every possible list. Pednekar’s choice from their collection, while promoting her next, Pati Patni Aur Woh, was a brown sequins body con gown, rounded up by messy hair and a metallic touch to her makeup.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in Ralph and Russo
Whether it’s on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival or the streets of Los Angeles, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is one actress who has always remained loyal to Ralph and Russo and even the other way round. From couture gowns to a lehenga (at Cannes) and now to a wrap dress-gown, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and the label have ventured into all things fashion and with such grace. For her recent vacation in LA, the actress opted for a while dress from R&R and finished her look with brown loafers, a brown bag, vintage sunglasses and gold hoops. Overall, this is a look we stan!

Kareena Kapoor Khan in Dion Lee
We’ve said it earlier and we shall say it again: If Kareena Kapoor Khan has had an outing in the week gone by, you will definitely see her on our list. And it’s not out of a bias (or is it?) but rather the fact that the Begum always gets it right. For the trailer launch of her upcoming film, Good Newwz, Kapoor Khan went extremely minimal with a Dion Lee dress, cut and sewed beautifully, messy hair and almost no accessories or makeup, and this is something we really appreciate.

Neha Dhupia in Punit Balana
Neha Dhupia is the only person this week to have impressed us in an Indian outfit. The actress went to the Golden Temple on her daughter’s first birthday, stepping out in a Punit Balana suit from his latest collection, Rabari. We saw Tara Sutaria wearing something from the same collection last week, and after seeing Dhupia, we have to compliment the designer on the versatility he brings to different pieces of outfits. For anyone, the dots, the stripes, the puffed sleeves and the plain dupatta might be too much to deal with, but not for Dhupia. The actress walks in and out with complete ease, making this a memorable outfit.
