While last week had the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards and the Star Screen Awards, we weren’t as happy with most of the looks at both of the events. However, Deepika Padukone, Mouni Roy, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma stood out at the award shows. Bhatt’s casual corset outing, Janhvi Kapoor’s white suit and pink saree jet lag dealings, Kareena Kapoor Khan envious Elie Saab number and Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ sparkling appearance at the Marrakech International Film Festival and her bold statement at the Unicef snowflake ball caught out eyes more than the award outings. Here’s who wore what in the week gone by…
Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Salvatore Ferragamo and Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
This week, our favourite look has to be that of Priyanka Chopra Jonas at the annual UNICEF snowflake ball in New York, where she stepped out in a stunning, bold red Ferragamo gown with a high neck and a flowing tail. The gown is a very bold choice, considering that it is sleeveless on on side and let’s call a spade a spade, it is COLD in New York. Minimal accessories, sleek hair and confidence that could give you a run for your money are Chopra Jonas’ accompaniments. And while the Mary Kom actor made us proud in New York, she left no stone unturned even at the Marrakech International Film Festival, where she showed up in a beautiful Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla creation. We love how Chopra Jonas can do so much with so little. Just a choker to go with the look, and again and as always, loads of confidence. The second look sure does take us back to her Aitraaz days, but who doesn’t like a revisit in fashion, especially when it’s a good one!

Deepika Padukone in Alex Perry
It’s definitely been a while since we have had Deepika Padukone on our best dressed list, especially a look from the red carpet. Cannes was perhaps the last time. Last night, as Padukone stepped out for the Star Screen Awards in a black gown from Alex Perry, we were stunned. The silhouette perfectly graces her body, while being sleeveless on one side and a dropping sleeve on another. The makeup is perfect and the new hair even more so. We would love to see how she experiments more with the hair now!

Kareena Kapoor Khan in Elie Saab
That Kareena Kapoor Khan has to be on each of our best dressed lists is undeniable. That Rhea Kapoor works the best magic on the Begum is unquestionable. Kapoor Khan looks ethereal in this Elie Saab creation as she attended the HT Summit in Delhi (alongside Akshay Kumar). The silver accessories go perfectly well with the outfit, as does the well done bun. While we don’t remember a look of the Good Newwz actor in a choker outfit, this sure will stand as one of her best looks!

Alia Bhatt in Sabyasachi and Paule Ka & Zara
This week, Miss Bhatt was quite an impresser, in both traditional and western attire. For the Star Screen Awards, Bhatt opted for a striped saree from Sabyasachi, and not so heavy earrings to go with it from the designers jewellery collection, letting the saree speak as much as it could. The minimal makeup and sleek hairdo just add to the grace, king this look one of her best saree looks of all time. For another event, Bhatt gave us our look of the week, when she stepped out in separates from Paule Ka. The highlight of the outfit weren’t the separates but rather the Zara corset she wore over them. How stunningly creative was this!

Janhvi Kapoor in Manish Malhotra and Judy Zhang
Whether you believe us or not, Janhvi Kapoor has eyes to kill, and somehow, her eyes add so much grace and oomph to each of her sartorial outings. Put her in a Manish Malhotra saree (left) or in a Judy Zhang (right) pantsuit, the Dhadak actor always makes it work. For the sequins saree look, the young actor opts for jewellery from Khanna Jewellers and perfectly blow-dried hair, completing her look with blush pink makeup. While for the white attire, Kapoor opts to go accessory less with just a bracelet from Misho and messy, blow-dried hair. If you asked us to pick between these two looks, we wouldn’t be able to!

Anushka Sharma in Marmar Halim
A high neck collar, puffed sleeves, a backless top, and a colour that could go missing in the darkness of the night – everything about Anushka Sharma’s Marmar Halim gown is a risky affair, but Sharma makes it all work and how! Matching earrings from Diamantina Fine Jewels and golden stilettos, the actor makes the look a ten on ten for us.

Mouni Roy in Albina Dyla
Mouni Roy took the high road when she stepped out for the Filmfare Awards earlier this week. Like Chopra Jonas, the actor opts for a bold and striking red number, but unlike the former’s the latter’s gown is shimmery too. With a not too loud-not too quiet lipstick, minimal blush and accessories from Gehna Jewellers, Roy makes this look work with so much grace!
