After Janhvi Kapoor headlining Gunjan Saxena, in which she plays an Air Force Pilot, Kangana Ranaut will be doing the same for Ronnie Screwvala’s next, Tejas. Ranaut has always asserted the need of roles for women, and has stood up for women empowerment through the choices she’s made.
In a statement, the Panga actress said, “I’ve always wanted to play a soldier and have been fascinated with the Armed Forces since childhood. I’ve never held back my emotions for our jawans and spoken openly about how strongly I feel about their heroism. They keep our country secure and our people safe. So, I’m very happy to be doing this film.”
Ranaut starts shooting for this film in July after she wraps up Thalaivi. For the film, director Sarvesh Mewara has arranged for Ranaut to go through intense training and workshops to understand the character and play her with authenticity.
Apart from these films, Ranaut’s Panga (Ashwini Iyer Tiwari) releases today.
