Watch Durgamati The Myth exclusively on Amazon Prime, December 11 onwards…
Bhumi Pednekar is one of our favourite people out there – in terms of the choices she’s made, both, as an actor and as the fashionista she’s evolving into! Ever since Dum Laga Ke Haisha released, Pednekar has proved that she’s got it in her to make it. Since then, there have been no wrong films and I don’t remember a fashion disaster either. Over the last few years, especially since stylist Pranita Shetty got on board, Bhumi Pednekar has told us that she’s not just the actor everyone needs to look out for, but also the fashionista everyone needs to be wary of.
Recently, Pednekar released the trailer of her upcoming film, Durgamati The Myth. Releasing on December 11, the film is the remake of Telugu-Tamil film Bhaagamathie. The original film had Anushka Shetty in the lead and here we see Bhumi Pednekar as an IAS officer. But not everything is as simple as it may seem. We don’t want to give anything away, so you can watch the trailer here.
The release of the film is about two weeks away and so, naturally, Bhumi Pednekar is now all over the internet as she promotes her film. In pre-Covid19 days, we would’ve said that Pednekar is all around town promoting the film, but now we make do with online interviews, telephonic conversations and e-promotional looks. Just yesterday, Bhumi Pednekar has already stepped out (or in?) twice!
For her first outing, Pednekar opted for a Saaksha & Kinni ensemble – a white shirt, and an embroidered top tucked into a side slit black skirt. It’s a simple yet effective look and Bhumi Pednekar makes it work! Kudos to stylist Pranita Shetty for keeping the look simple, modern, elegant and so many things at the same time. Shoes from Augustha, highlighted cheeks, winged eyeliner, nude lips, soft hair – everything contributes towards this look being the perfect promotion kickstarter!
While Pednekar aced her monochrome look, she surprised us with a multi-coloured printed pyjama-suit by Limerick later yesterday. We love how the prints and colours, both, complement and contrast against one another. Less focus on hair, makeup and accessories makes the look even worth praising. Minimal is the way to go when you want to pull of a pyjama/pant-suit like this and Bhumi Pednekar seems to be an expert in that area. While this may not be the perfect choice for ‘formal wear’, let us remind you yet again that we’re all working from home right now! So if you think our story is titled wrong, think again!
Also starring Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta and Mahie Gill in prominent roles, Durgamati The Myth will be streaming on Amazon Prime from December 11.
