Pati Patni Aur Woh: Too dry to create any humour

As it looks from the trailer, Pati Patni Aur Woh is supposed to be a comedy. I haven’t watched the original film, so there can’t be a comparison on genre, but the trailer of Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday’s film is something that I did not like at all. In the film, the plot is obvious, not just because it is a remake, but even if it wasn’t, the title of the film suggests it all. There’s a husband, a wife and an extramarital affair. Since there’s nothing out of the blue there, the treatment of the trailer could’ve been a little better, more emotional and less wannabe humorous.

While Kartik Aaryan is used to this kind of nonsensical cinema, and Ananya Panday is too new to the trade, it’s Bhumi Pednekar who will suffer the most with this film after playing very well rounded characters in Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Sonchiriya and recently Saand Ki Aankh.
