Take upcycling tips from Bhumi Pednekar’s latest outing

Because upcycling is the only future of fashion!

As kids, we’re always taught the three environmental Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – but somehow, when we grow up, that’s the last thing on our minds. The pandemic following the novel Coronavirus has taught us better. Designers are now moving towards more sustainable ways of production, thrift stores are the new thing in India and fashion influencers and actors are now actively searching for brands that understand not just conscious production but also conscious consumption.

And to our rescue, as a guiding light, we have Bhumi Pednekar. Pednekar, who was recently seen in the lovely Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, recently stepped out in a monochrome look, which was a standout in itself! That it was a conscious choice to wear what she wore makes the look all the more stunning! For her outing, Pednekar opted for a vintage jacket from the 80s from Bodements, and paired it with an upcycled skirt from her personal collection. We’ve seen Pednekar wear this very skirt a couple of times, and that’s what makes this a special look for us. In times when celebrities fear being called out for repetition (which is wrong, by the way) and when celebrities are compared if two of them wear the same look, we have Bhumi Pednekar telling the world that it’s only normal, and in fact ethical, to repeat clothes. The world we live in is governed by our own choices, and these very choices that Pednekar makes, makes the world a better place to live in (as do her choices in films).

Bold black shoes from Burberry and chunky statement earrings finish Pednekar’s look! You can wear Pednekar’s skirt with a knit top, a satin shirt and every single time, it will be something else, something new!

On the work front, Pednekar will be seen in Durgavati next which releases on December 11, only on Amazon Prime.
