Suitable sartorial sensibilities indeed!
Rasika Dugal and Tanya Maniktala are busy girls. Both the actors have been busy promoting their web shows – Mirzapur Season 2 and A Suitable Boy. While Maniktala features as the leading lady Lata in the latter, Dugal plays Savita in Mira Nair’s adaptation of Vikram Seth’s book and returns as the much loved Beena Tripathi in the second season of Mirzapur. Off late, we’ve seen both Maniktala and Dugal in autumn dresses, monochrome outfits and more, and they move along with their promotions.
While they’re both being styled by Pranay Jaitly and Shounak Amonkar of Who Wore What When, you see the differences that the stylists bring about in both these distinct personalities. For one of their looks, for example, Tanya Maniktala and Rasika Dugal wore multi-coloured prints, but both so varied, so different.
For her latest outing, Rasika Dugal opted for a heavily floral printed anarkali of sorts. Scattered with floral patterns in shades of pink, blue, yellow and green, the base of this Mrunalini Rao outfit was black. A well fitted bust, followed by flow-y pleats made for a perfect kurta! Dugal paired her kurta with wide legged pants in the same print. Usually, one would opt for subtle jewellery when the outfit does so much of the talking, but not when you’re Rasika Dugal, who opted for a chunky silver choker and matching earrings from Kohar by Kanika.
On the other hand, that’s not how Tanya Maniktala thinks! For the A Suitable Boy actor, less is more when it comes to jewellery with prints. Maniktala opted for subtle, minimal jewellery from Zariin to go with her very busy Siddhartha Bansal pantsuit. In hues of red, pink, blue, green and more, Maniktala’s pantsuit had geometric prints all over, accompanied by floral motifs. This look was, for sure, my favourite look on her from her promotional rounds.
